Seaside resort of the Bay of Somme, Saint-Valery-sur-Somme is also a charming medieval town. It is a very popular destination thanks to its history-filled upper town overlooking the bay, narrow flower-filled streets, sailing and fishing harbour and beautiful sea-wall promenade lined with villas.
Also not to be missed, the Herbarium des Remparts, a walled medieval garden containing, among others, rare vegetables and plants from the Picardy Coast.
Fans of tradition should head to the Picarvie museum, which is dedicated to the trades of yesteryear.
