Located northwest of the Cantal, the city of Mauriac is located at an average altitude of 700 meters, between the valley of the Dordogne, now classified as a World Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO, and the Puy Mary (first image below.) It is crossed by the Green Meridian, the former meridian of Paris before choosing Greenwich as the prime meridian.
Bordering the Auze, on the edge of Corrèze, the city of Mauriac is a boutique town with many natural charms. It owes its particular beauty to seven hills visible from the artificial lake of the city.
City tourism, thanks to the presence of very modern facilities, the city of Mauriac also has a nice collection of sites classified as an historic monument that enhance the surrounding greenery. Animated, this city of Cantal also offers a wide selection of leisure sites, like its lake and its beach.
